What to Know Before Your Appointment

At Dentists @ Canning Vale, our team aims to make every visit as organised, comfortable and straightforward as possible. Whether you are visiting us for the first time, attending a routine check-up, or arranging treatment for a dental concern, the information below will help you prepare for your appointment.

Your First Appointment

If you are attending Dentists @ Canning Vale for the first time, please try to arrive approximately 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment.

This allows time to complete a new patient questionnaire and provide any important information about your:

  • Medical history
  • Current medications
  • Allergies
  • Previous dental treatment
  • Health fund details
  • Dental concerns or treatment goals

Providing accurate information helps our dentists understand your needs and recommend care that is appropriate for your individual circumstances.

Finding Our Clinic

Before your appointment, we recommend visiting our Our Location page so you can familiarise yourself with where the clinic is located and plan your travel.

Arriving a little early can help reduce stress and give you time to check in with our reception team before your appointment begins.

Health Funds and HICAPS

Dentists @ Canning Vale accepts private health funds and has HICAPS available for on-the-spot claiming.

If you have private health insurance, please bring your health fund card or accepted digital claiming method to your appointment. A card number alone may not be sufficient for HICAPS claiming, as the card or approved claiming method may be required for security and processing.

Health fund rebates may vary depending on your provider, policy, waiting periods and level of cover. Please contact your health fund directly to confirm your entitlements before your appointment.

Preferred Health Fund Providers

Dentists @ Canning Vale is a preferred provider for several health funds, including:

  • BUPA Members First Platinum

Payments and Gap Payments

All gap payments are due on the day of your appointment.

We accept:

  • Cash
  • EFTPOS
  • Debit card
  • Visa
  • MasterCard

Our reception team can help process your HICAPS claim on the day where applicable. Any remaining gap payment will be payable after your rebate has been processed.

Treatment Plans and Finance Options

For more complex treatment plans, payment planning options may be discussed, including finance through National Dental Plan where available.

Finance is subject to third-party terms, conditions, eligibility and approval. Our team can provide a treatment plan and itemised quote where appropriate so you can consider your options before proceeding.

Medicare, CDBS and Veterans’ Affairs

Dentists @ Canning Vale sees eligible patients under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, also known as CDBS, and Department of Veterans’ Affairs arrangements.

Please let our reception team know when booking if you intend to use one of these services. This allows us to check relevant details and prepare for your appointment where possible.

Eligibility, available benefits and claim limits may vary. Please confirm your eligibility with the relevant government program before treatment.

Appointment Cancellations

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please try to give us at least 24 hours’ notice.

Providing notice allows us to offer the appointment time to another patient, including someone who may require urgent care for tooth pain or a dental emergency.

A small fee may apply for missed appointments or late cancellations.

Keeping Your Details Up to Date

To help us provide appropriate care and accurate administration, please let our team know if any of the following change:

  • Your contact details
  • Medical history
  • Medications
  • Allergies
  • Health fund provider
  • Medicare or CDBS details
  • Veterans’ Affairs details

Keeping your records current helps our dentists and reception team support your visit more effectively.

The information provided on this website is general in nature and is intended for patient education only. It should not be relied upon as a substitute for personalised dental advice, diagnosis or treatment from a qualified dental practitioner.

Treatment suitability varies from patient to patient. Any treatment recommendation made by Dentists @ Canning Vale will depend on your individual oral health, medical history, dental concerns, treatment goals and clinical assessment. A consultation is required before we can determine whether a particular dental treatment is appropriate for you.

Individual results, outcomes, treatment timeframes, healing times and recovery experiences may vary. No dental, cosmetic, orthodontic, implant, surgical or facial aesthetic treatment can be guaranteed to achieve a specific outcome.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

Where this website refers to dental implant treatment, wisdom teeth removal, tooth extractions, bone grafting, gum procedures, implant-supported restorations or other invasive treatments, patients should understand that these procedures involve risks, possible complications and recovery considerations. Our dentists will discuss the benefits, risks, alternatives and expected costs before treatment proceeds.

Where before-and-after images, treatment examples, illustrations or smile-related imagery are shown, they are provided for general information only. Results may vary depending on the individual. Images should not be interpreted as a guarantee, promise or representation that the same or similar outcome will be achieved.

Cosmetic dental treatments, including veneers, teeth whitening, bonding, smile makeover treatments, gum contouring, clear aligner treatment and related procedures, may not be suitable for every patient. Suitability depends on oral health, tooth structure, gum health, bite function, existing restorations and individual treatment goals.

Facial aesthetic treatments, where offered, require an individual consultation to assess suitability, medical history, risks, expected outcomes and available options. Outcomes vary between individuals and treatment recommendations will depend on your personal circumstances.

Fees, treatment costs and payment options vary depending on individual treatment needs, treatment complexity, materials, laboratory requirements, imaging, additional procedures and appointment requirements. Any prices shown on this website are general guides only unless stated otherwise. A personalised treatment plan and quote will be provided after consultation.

Health fund rebates may apply depending on your level of cover, provider, policy limits and waiting periods. Please contact your health fund directly to confirm your entitlements before proceeding with treatment.
